Biometrix AcuDart tests have a sensitivity greater than 90%, making them more accurate than any other DTC test or tests from commercial laboratories. The Biometrix AcuDart Lyme Disease Screening Test is the most comprehensive and accurate test available for Lyme because it identifies antibodies to the following nine Borrelia species: B. burgdorferi B31, B. burgdorferi 297, B. californiensis, B. mayonii, B. afzelii, B. garinii, B. spielmanii, B. bissettii and B. valaisianaa.
Most Lyme disease tests look for only one species, B. burgdorferi B31, and therefore miss many positive cases.
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection caused by the bite of an infected tick. In some cases, other insects such as mosquitoes, lice, fleas and flies may also serve as carriers. Lyme disease, the most common tick-borne disease, is one of the fastest-growing infectious diseases globally, affecting millions of people around the world.
Untreated Lyme disease can produce a wide range of symptoms, depending on the stage of infection. These include: fatigue, skin rashes, joint pain, muscle pain, facial paralysis, neurological & cognitive issues, swollen lymph nodes, joint swelling, numbness, muscle weakness, vision loss, headaches, chills, pain in tendons, neck stiffness, sleep disturbances, fever….
Lyme disease is often referred to as “the great imitator” because its symptoms can mimic those of many other illnesses.
Lyme disease can mimic conditions such as: Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Autoimmune Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Depression, and Anxiety….
