Biometrix AcuDart tests have a sensitivity greater than 90%, making them more accurate than any other DTC test or tests from commercial laboratories. The Biometrix AcuDart Babesiosis Test is the most comprehensive and accurate test available for Babesiosis because it identifies antibodies to the following two Babesia species: B. microti and B. duncani. Most Babesia tests look for only one species, and therefore miss many positive cases.
Babesiosis is a disease caused by microscopic parasites that infect red blood cells, and is spread by the bite of an infected blacklegged tick. It causes flu-like symptoms and can lead to severe illness.
